Crown Green Bowling Success for James

James, who is in Year 8, competes in Crown Green Bowling and this year has had many successes which both we and James are all very proud of. He won the Hemplow U14 Development Shield and the Almondbury Village U16 Basil Falck Memorial Trophy. He was also runner up in the Peter Firth U16 competition; having bowled brilliantly all morning, and he was very unlucky to lose in the final.

His record for representing Almondbury Juniors with his 7 and 8 year old brothers on a Saturday morning has been brilliant. James has played a total of 19 games and won 17 of them in a combination of pairs and singles matches.

James has also been a member of both the Huddersfield Junior Inter District B team (U18) where he played 8 matches: won 4 and lost 4, and The Yorkshire Junior County Squad (U18) of which he is the youngest member. This team had victory in winning the British Crown Green Bowling Association Junior Team Championship.

James also played in the Mirfield Old Bank B Team with both his father and his grandad where he has undoubtedly been the youngest player in the league. He has shown great maturity in playing against other competitors ranging in ages from 15 years old up to 70+.
