MFG Trio Step Up to Irish Dancing Championships

Ella (Year 10) , Grace (Year 9) and Louisa-Rose (starting at The MFG in September)  danced at the 33rd All Scotland Championships in Irish Dancing on 16 & 17 February at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow.  The event was attended by nearly 2,000 dancers from 328 dance schools in 15 countries worldwide.

In the U11 Age group Louisa danced against 125 girls and finished in 102nd place which considering this was her first major was a tremendous achievement. She has also now been invited to dance at the Scottish Nationals competition in June.

Grace danced in the U14 championship against 146 girls, finishing in 113th place.  Again this was Grace’s first major and she has also been invited to dance at the Scottish Nationals.

Ella competed in the U16 championship and this was her fourth time of dancing at the All Scotland’s. She came 66th out of 119 girls; a good result but not as good as she would have liked.  Ella also competed at the City of Birmingham Championships on 25 February.

All 3 girls danced at the Cheshire Championships on 4 March, the St Patrick’s Feis in Newcastle on 11 March, on the pitch at Leeds Rhino’s on 17 March, the Leeds St Patrick’s day parade on the 18 March and at the O’Morda Feis on the 1 and 2 April.  Ella is also dancing at the World Championships on 11 April in Dublin and we look forward to hearing about her success in the competition.
