New Year 13 Face Their “Future Jobs”
Last week Year 12 students took part in the Future Jobs programme, hosted by Leeds City Region, which was aimed at 'preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s job market'.
Each student was offered a 1-1 careers intervention to discuss progression pathways and were provided with an individual action plan. Students were then introduced to a carousel of activities on four key themes: labour market intelligence, employer expectations, apprenticeships, self-employment and entrepreneurship – all highly beneficial to developing students’ understanding of the employment world.
Students have said that they found the event to be very informative and it also raised their awareness regarding key skills that employers expect and value in future potential employees; this is something that we feel is important for our students to understand.
