STEM Visit to University of York
This July, students from Years 8 – 11 visited the University of York to learn more about STEM-based careers and degree subjects that are relevant to the roles. The students had to work in teams of mixed ages to identify ways in which pollution can be reduced, and energy conserved in the home, before learning about the kinds of job roles that are linked to environmental studies. The students were then taken on a tour of the University and treated to a student-style lunch in the University canteen.
The students all fed back that they found the visit very informative and really enjoyed both the experience of going to a Russell Group University and also working with students from other year groups.
